Midsommar Halloween
Horror is on quite the solid run.
From Jordan Peele’s Get Out (2017) and Us (2019), to Robert Eggers’ The Witch (2015) and the highly-anticipated The Lighthouse (which is not out in Australia until late Jan), we are indeed in a golden age of shock.
In 2019 however, I was introduced to Ari Aster and the outstanding Midsommar.
A fun romp, it was not, but the genesis of this post was to highlight a most excellent idea for this year’s halloween costume that I stumbled upon going through Florence Pugh’s twitter feed. I believe I ended up there after watching the new Black Widow trailer, where she features quite heavily.
Now a quick google search will tell you that this was already a trend in 2019, but here is the tweet from the May Queen herself (with a potential spoiler warning, but not really):
